How To Make All Natural Deodorant (3 ingredients!)

You might be wondering why you should make your own deodorant. What you might not know is that the main ingredient in antiperspirants is aluminium. Aluminium has been linked to cancer, Alzheimer disease, bone disorders and kidney problems. It is especially dangerous for women as there have been many cases of breast cancer linked to the use of aluminium based deodorants.

I've known this for a while but I've been skeptical about this recipe and how well it would work. These past six months I have been making a conscious effort towards living a holistic life and only giving my body the best I can. So I have finally made the leap and tried this deodorant out and let me tell you it is magic! I was half expecting it to fail but it not only works better than my regular deodorant but it smells better too. I am in love!

I knew I had to share this recipe and I really hope everyone tries it out. It's easy to make and super affordable as well. Try it out, tell me how it has worked for you and share it with friends and family that you think will be interested.

Ingredients:
  • 6 Tblsp coconut oil
  • 4 Tblsp baking soda
  • 4 Tblsp cornstarch
  • essential oils (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Mix the baking soda and cornstarch together in the container that you will be keeping the deodorant.
  2. Mix in the coconut oil with a fork until well combined.
  3. This is optional but I included 5 drops of tea tree oil in mine because I love how it smells in conjunction with coconut oil and it's antiviral and anti-fungal properties as this will give it extra fighting power against foul odor
  4. Apply it to armpit using either fingers or a flat wooden stick.
